A GP practice in the Peel region had decided to move from Zedmed to Best Practice. The primary driver was consistency — the practice’s doctors also worked at other clinics running Best Practice, and switching between two different clinical platforms was creating inefficiency and increasing the risk of errors.
With 16 clinical workstations to migrate, the practice needed the transition to be completely seamless. As a busy practice serving the local community, any downtime during clinic hours was unacceptable — and they needed the confidence that their patient data, clinical records and integrations would be fully intact on the other side.
Bluebird IT planned and executed the full remote migration of 16 clinical workstations from Zedmed to Best Practice over a single weekend. Working remotely from nearby Mandurah, our team accessed each workstation via secure remote connection and completed the full migration — including Best Practice installation, configuration, data migration, Medicare Online connectivity, My Health Record integration, ePrescribing setup and pathology integration.
The migration proceeded without complications. Our familiarity with both Zedmed and Best Practice meant the transition was planned and executed efficiently, with every workstation fully configured and tested before the weekend was complete.
The practice’s clinical team arrived on Monday morning to fully operational Best Practice workstations — exactly as they had been on Zedmed, but on the platform they preferred. All integrations were live, all patient data was intact, and every user was able to log in and begin seeing patients immediately.
